Frequently asked questions
The things people most often want to know before they get in touch — grouped so you can scan to what matters to you.
Funding & NDIS
How funding fits, and where the line is drawn.
NDIS can cover the support worker part of your trip — personal care, daily assistance, and accessible transport differences. It can't cover flights, accommodation, meals, or activities; those are booked separately as your travel package.
We keep them separate and clearly priced: your travel package (flights, stays, activities) and your support worker time. You always get two clear quotes, never one blended number.
Yes. We'll plan and book your trip around a carer you already know and trust — you only pay for the travel planning, not our support rate.
We're happy to confirm our current status with you directly. Get in touch and we'll explain how it applies to your plan management type.
Trip logistics
Timing, equipment, and what happens if things shift.
International trips need 2–3 months for accessible accommodation and equipment logistics. Domestic trips can often come together in a few weeks.
Tell us in your enquiry — roll-in showers, bed height, hoists, doorway widths, whatever matters. We verify these directly with providers before booking, not after.
Yes — both. International adds equipment, medication documentation, and airline assistance, all handled as part of the process.
We build flexibility in. Share your dates and we'll walk you through the change and cancellation options before you commit.
Carers & support
Who's with you, and how they're chosen.
By your support needs, the experience required (e.g. complex care, spinal injury), and personality fit — you may be spending full days together.
All hold current NDIS Worker Screening, police clearance, First Aid/CPR, and Manual Handling certification, plus a destination briefing before travel.
Absolutely. We plan around your whole party and coordinate accessible arrangements for everyone travelling with you.
Costs
Clear pricing, no surprises.
It depends on destination, tier, and support hours. Travel package pricing is shown per experience; support costs are quoted individually based on your needs.
Yes, always. You get a separate, itemised quote for support hours, kept apart from your travel booking for funding and invoicing clarity.
We share the full policy with your quote so you know the terms — for both travel bookings and any service agreement — before you commit.
Support worker fees and the support worker's own travel and accommodation are quoted separately, based on the trip.
Travelling without a disability
First-time travellers, older adventurers, and anyone who'd like the hard parts handled.
Yes. Roam plans thoughtful, fully-supported travel for anyone who wants the hard parts handled. Many travellers simply value a calm, experienced hand and a plan that genuinely works.
Absolutely. We handle flights, accommodation, transfers, and a clear itinerary, and walk you through every step. You arrive ready to enjoy it, not manage it.
Yes. We move at your pace, build in rest, and can add a companion for extra peace of mind. The trip is shaped around how you like to travel.
No. Use our trip planning on its own, or add a companion anytime if you'd like the company and an experienced backup on the ground.
Yes — we plan around everyone in the party, with whatever level of support each person wants.
